OSTO: Threads of Time

Expansion Preview

Threads of Time is currently being tested and finalized. This guide previews the new Era Threads system and the Dakuryon's Rise content; release timing, rewards, drop rates, final balance, and more are still in development.

When the hero struck down Shandra Manaya in her Core, the argon queen died with Sikander’s flame in her hand. Kaia felt a wave of pain ripple across the world. It never faded. The Timescape tore open, a door appeared in the Velika plaza that no one built, and the Dream of Arborea began to run on two threads of time.

With Threads of Time, every character can live in two eras of Arborea: Manaya's Fall, the Old School TERA you know with its level 60 cap, and Dakuryon's Rise, the level 65 Fate of Arun storyline that opens Northern Arun, Highwatch, and a full roster of new dungeons and progression.

Each thread keeps its own level, gear, inventory and gold, so your current progress is never touched by the expansion. You change threads simply by traveling.

The Two Threads

Every character starts in Manaya's Fall. Corsairs' Stronghold and Wintera Snowfield (when in season) are open to both threads.

Unlocking Dakuryon's Rise

At level 60, the questline Threads of Time begins in Velika. It ends when Adrios the Historian writes the Chronicle of Dakuryon’s Rise for you. Read it, and you are anchored in both threads. Then Seir sends you north.

Use the Chronicle of Dakuryon's Rise at level 60 to permanently unlock Dakuryon's Rise for that character. It cannot be traded or sold.

When you first arrive, five Northern Arun Supplies parcels are waiting in your Dakuryon's Rise mailbox:

Armor, necklace, rings and earrings for your class.
Ishara's Relic Pieces to exchange for your class weapon.
A set of crystals and Zyrks for your new gear.
Potions, bandages, resurrection scrolls and 200 gold.

Changing Threads

There is no NPC or button. Your thread changes automatically when you travel into an area of the other thread, by teleportal, Village Atlas, scroll, NPC or dungeon entry. Your character swaps during the loading screen, and the chat confirms it:

[Threads of Time] Dakuryon's Rise is now active. Level cap: 65.
